Stand-up paddle, SUP, as it is called for short, or in the Hawaiian language "Hoe he'e nalu", is an emerging global sport which originated in ancient Polynesia, but wasn't really absorbed by the modern mindset until the mid 20th-century. It is an ancient form of surfing, and has reemerged as a way for surfers to paddle longer distances.

Paros has many unique beaches where SUP can be simultaneously adventurous, peaceful and a solid form of core conditioning for surfers and non-surfers alike. In the summer with it's crystal clear blue and warm waters, you can day-cruise to lots of near-by uninhabited islets or visit some of the rough weather beaten beaches to train yourself to the extreme. >
